I've tutored English, writing, test prep and college essays for ten years,. My Los Angeles students (grades 4-12) attend public and private schools including Harvard-Westlake, St. James, Marlborough, Buckley, Loyola High School, and Immaculate Heart. I taught fiction writing at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, CA, and I teach screenwriting online at Ed2Go. I was also the fiction editor of 2 literary magazines, The Coachella Review, and Kelp Journal.
My love of writing and reading led me to Vassar College, where I received a BFA in English, cum laude, and then to UC Riverside, where I received my MFA. (For those of you who live in NYC, where I grew up, I attended Brooklyn Friends School; for high school, I matriculated to Friends Seminary in Manhattan.) While at Vassar, I was published in the Vassar Quarterly and SMASH magazine. Since then, I've published a YA novel with Paperlantern Lit (pen name) and several short stories, essays, articles, and reviews. My second novel, Retreat, a collaboration with actress Krysten Ritter, (HarperCollins, 2025) is currently a bestseller. A second novel with Ritter, Revenge, will be published by HarperCollins in 2027. My short story "Neighbor North" was recognized as a Best American Short Story, Mystery and Suspense, 2024.
In addition to editing fiction for Kelp Journal and the Coachella Review, I freelance edit for writers in every genre.
