I've tutored English, writing, test prep and college essays for over five years, but have ramped up since I received my MFA in 2020. My Los Angeles students (grades 4-12) attend public and private schools including Harvard Westlake, St. James, Marlborough, Buckley, Loyola High School, and Immaculate Heart. I also teach fiction writing at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, CA, screenwriting online at Ed2Go, and was a graduate level TA at UC Riverside. Currently, I am the Fiction Editor of literary magazine Kelp Journal.
My love of writing and reading led me to Vassar College, where I received a BFA in English, cum laude, and then to UC Riverside, where I received my MFA. (For those of you who live in NYC, where I grew up, I attended Brooklyn Friends School; for high school, I matriculated to Friends Seminary in Manhattan.) While at Vassar, I was published in the Vassar Quarterly and SMASH magazine. Since then, I've published a YA novel with Paperlantern Lit, (pen name), and several short stories, essays, articles, and reviews. My second novel, a collaboration with actress Krysten Ritter, will be published by HarperCollins in 2023. My short story "Neighbor North" was published in January 2023, in the surf noir anthology, The Dark Waves of Winter.
As the Fiction Editor of literary magazine Kelp Journal, and previously the Fiction Editor of The Coachella Review, I have edited many authors for publication.
